Since time immemorial, Varanasi, the most ancient living city in the world and the cultural capital of India peninsula has evolved as a sacred seat of learning and knowledge. Shri Agrasen Kanya P.G. College has shined as a bright star of knowledge spreading exclusively for girls in Purvanchal region

Shri Agrasen Kanya P.G. College, Varanasi, Affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidya Peeth, Varanasi, which has opened in 1973 and situated in the heart of this holy city near Maidagin is rendering great service for the welfare, in association with Sri Kashi Agrawal Samaj.

After getting autonomy the college has started Biotechnology at graduate level and Chemistry at Post Graduate level in Science Faculty. At post graduate level in Arts Faculty, Home Science has been started with its all five branches. Along with these subjects General Hindi/General English is Taught as compulsory subject at graduate level and one month computer training is also compulsory for every student of B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. first year under computer awareness program.

The institution initially comprising of six rooms started its academic functioning with fourteen students and for teachers. Since then the college flourished continuously and is now having approximately six thousand students, 200 staff members, two campus and multistoried building of its own. The new campus of the college is in Parmanandpur near Shivpur Bipass, Varanasi.

This institution has got autonomy in Session 2001-02 and has been honoured of being the First Women’s Autonomous College of Uttar Pradesh. This institution has also the honour of being first college accredited Grade A by NAAC in 2005. The college imparts education at undergraduate level in ten subjects in Arts Faculty, seven subjects in Science Faculty and commerce faculty and at Post Graduate level five subjects in arts Faculty and three subjects in Science Faculty.
